4- H Livestock Judging Team

In the Livestock Judging Club students will learn how to analyze animal and measure them against a set of ideal standards. Open to 4-H students in Fentress County. Participants will learn:

  • to build their confidence.
  • support their answers
  • make decisions
  • how to score livestock in a competition based on set standards

The goal of the wildlife judging team is to help participants appreciate and preserve local wildlife in our community.

Open to 4-H students in Fentress County.

Participants will learn:

  • wildlife management practices
  • wildlife food and habitats
  • leadership skills

Horse Judging

Open to 4-H students in Fentress County.

Participants will learn:

  • horse management skills
  • identifying ideal characteristics of a horse based on set standards
  • how to score horses in a competition
  • the anatomy of a horse

The goal of the horse club is to help the participants gain an appreciation for horses. Participants will learn about:

  • horse nutrition
  • horse breeds
  • horse care
  • horse vet science

Sewing Club

The 4-H sewing club teaches the basics of sewing. Participants will learn:

  • to safely use a sewing machine
  • to create a variety of beginner sewing projects
  • to use a cutting board
  • to follow a sewing pattern
